Please punctuate the following sentence:
James an over the hill sort of fellow went into the library to find some quiet only to find it jammed with noisy 8 to 12 year old urchins

Thank you, Oubliette an Iown, for your posts. I shall henceforth carry the day with panache!
I must away to scrub floors and toilets (yes, 45 years later, I'm at it still [or moving, but slowly]), but uppermost in my mind will be you!

Welcome, piztjw!
Good one!
Interesting re beside/besides:
Beside -- as noted above -- means "at the side of," yet besides similarly means "along the side of." However, besides may indicate "in addition to." Therefore, "Besides (i.e., in addition to) a dog, a book is a man's best friend," makes more sense grammatically, but what you offered is a humorous twist that carries the day [how does one carry the day?].
THANKS!

Thanks for your posts, Oubliette and LisaRose!
Excellent!
Nice comment about inspiration toward creativity, Lisa. A little student of mine has asked to be taken to an art museum in order to become inspired!

Good morning, dear Nancy:
Your flying off into a wordy craze is quite understandable, given the censuring of thought and action to which we had been long subjected.
Carry on!

EXCELLENT, Oubliette!
The rewrite certainly added clarity. KUDOS for a perfect score.

Before dessert, there must be an endeavor made to correct the sentence.
In this case, I must insist on "dinner" before dessert!
BTW: the saying is "just deserts" (not desserts).
Otherwise, I am a pushover.

Oubliette:
Hi there!
Would you like to throw in a few commas and hyphens in order to make the sentence in question correct?!?!?!? One clue has already been given.
Thanks.
